One Balls

KISS ... run a 4-2.
Don't make an overhand serve a requirement to make the JV, "C" or middle school team.
You want a volleyball scholarship and you give up club ball to play basketball? Duh
Believe in what you teach and the student/athletes will believe in what you teach.
Attend the spring coach's clinic every year!
It's a game ... stop yelling at your athletes.

When using this site you should click on "articles." There will be thirty seven articles posted. Each of these articles have withstood the test of time and can be used to improve your game. Many of them are aimed at coaches but the information contained in them will certainly improve the player's skills as well. The hitting article is a classic. The article entitled "scholarships" gives a step by step procedure by which you can chose a school to attend. The "Team Defense" article explains the three major defensive schemes and the philosophy behind each one. Of course, Sid's defense of the 4-2 will always raise eyebrows. Be sure to check out all the articles.

Click on "Tips of the Week." These are short reads that suggest various ways to improve your game.

Most importantly, if you are looking for a school click on "colleges" and then the state. There are 47 colleges listed with Sid's personal take on each. This  should be a good start when trying to pick a college of your choice.

The "links" will send you to the Southern and Palmetto Regions where you can find a club program that fits your needs.

Don't hesitate to e-mail Sid if you have a question or would just like to discuss volleyball; just click the "Contact Sid" link on the left menu. And remember, "To enjoy the sport you have to be a good sport."
